I purchased a couple 12" heads along with the 16" and they are great. They triggering works fine. I was tempted to purchase a 3-ply as many have but I honestly don't see the need to. These feel plenty thick and beefy while still offering good trigger response.
These heads are awesome. I prefer the 2ply over the 3ply for better ghost notes and feel but they are both great.
Works great on my 16" floor tom. It triggers just as good as the 14, 12 or 10" toms using Dolby Drums drop in trigger plates.
